The Beauty Insider:

New year, new exclusives

Here at Selfridges, there’s nothing we love more than an exclusive new product. So, while the rest of us spent the festive season merrily knocking back Negronis and Christmas nibbles, our brilliant buyers were busier than Santa’s helpers, beavering away to bring you the best spring beauty launches, early. Ahead, then, nine new and totally exclusive beauty buys you can only find at Selfridges.

Hello, skin saver!

After weeks of overindulgence, the effects of party season – think too much make-up and even more mince pies – have left our complexions a little worse for wear. What’s a girl to do? Step forward London facialist Lisa Franklin and her new line of expert skincare. Jampacked with good-for-you ingredients, each product is designed to restore and rejuvenate while also providing a barrier against pollution. Plus, they don’t contain parabens or any other nasties – which your knackered, post-party skin will thank you for.

The secret sauce

A decent moisturiser is essential when it comes to sorting out tired and dehydrated winter skin, and this newbie from IT Cosmetics is just the ticket. According to the brand, the secret lies in the ‘Secret Sauce Fermented Complex’: seven clinically advanced, fermented ingredients that help to increase absorbency and maximise the ultra-hydrating benefits of the cream. It’s super-hydrating, absorbs in a matter of seconds, and has helped perk up our complexion on the dullest of winter days.

Barely there coverage

Our buyers estimate that they tried around a gazillion concealers in 2018, but the silky formula of Giorgio Armani’s new Power Fabric iteration proved the hardest to beat. Made using the same iconic formula as the brand’s famous Power Fabric foundation (not tried it yet? Well, you should), it doesn’t just camouflage unsightly shadows, it’s also packed with a host of brightening ingredients to help fade them over time. Genius.

Absolute pore-fection

If large pores are your beauty nemesis, Decorté’s new Even Perfect Liquid foundation is your skin saviour. Developed specifically for more mature complexions, it glides onto skin blurring out fine lines and wrinkles. The clincher for us? It doesn’t sit in and draw attention to your pores like other foundations do.

Cool compacts

Tom Ford’s plush eye quads are as luxe as they come. The colour payoff is excellent, they blend together like a dream and they’re available in the coolest colours for spring. Take your pick from eight new-and-exclusive colour combos (although there’s a special place in our hearts for the beige-hued one, pictured here).

Spritz & uplift

Nothing signals spring and uplifts the soul quite like a bold citrus fragrance. Alongside fresh citrus, Thameen’s newest scent – Patiala – blends feminine aromas of orange flower and wild roses with a rich base of amber and musk.

(As) clear as crystal

Whether you believe in the powers of crystals or not, this pinky-hued eyeshadow palette from Bobbi Brown is sure to bring some positive energy to your new year make-up routine. The dozen shades are all inspired by the iridescence of crystals, and each one is highly pigmented, super-blendable and seriously long-lasting.

Life’s a beach

If, like us, the idea of an exotic holiday seems like a distant dream, one spray of Tiziana Terenzi’s Bianco Puro will instantly transport you to a tropical beach... even if you’re nowhere near one. Inspired by the white rocks and sandy beaches of Tropea, the aroma opens with bergamot and green mandarin, holding rich base notes of patchouli and sandalwood. Now for those flight tickets…
